First half of the road trip...

Well the first half of the trip is over. We made it across FL yesterday and ended up in New Orleans last night. We think that the travel gods are against us because it rained, and rained and rained yesterday. We couldn't really stop anywhere except for lunch and gas because it was pouring. For lunch we stopped in Tallahassee at a place called Jenny's Lunchbox which has a lunchbox theme. Lunch boxes hang from the ceiling and the such. Huge burgers that were made well and satisfied. From there it was to finish off FL which took FOREVER. Holy cow FL is wide at the top. Then brief ventures in MS and AL (with a wild venture through Mobile looking for a Starbucks...unsuccessfully) and then to LA. We were tired of rain and the car and found our hotel to be on the outskirts of the French Quarter where razor wire somewhat dominates. The hotel itself is great but the neighborhood not so much. John ran for food and we ate in. Today it was up and off to Cafe du Monde and a little sight seeing before we head out for the rest of the trip to TX. Pictures and more info later. Time for more car time!
