And we met the landlord

We met the landlord today.  He shares the other half of the duplex, and he's very concerned about our air conditioning, but knows there's not much anyone can do about it on a Friday night. So we let him get settled after his week long vacation with his wife and kids, so we let him do that as we had taco night!  We made tacos and beans, with peppers and hot sauce.  The highlight of the evening was the chips and and the tortillas.  The chips were really good, like restaurant chips, not like tostidos, and the tortillas, the tortillas!  They are made in the store.  And let me say here, not in some speciality store, they are made in the HEB.  Neither one of us thought tortillas could taste that good.

Oh!  How the mundane observations roll on!

Work is kicking up a notch next week, I need to get off my butt from reading, and get back into doing.  I do have some idea of what I'm working on now, so it's time to get onto the work stick and do stuff.  Good time to learn how to do all the techniques I'l need to use when we get to California.  It looks like fewer and fewer people going to CA with us.  I'll need to be ready to supervise what's going down in lab.  Best to pick the brains of the people I'm working with now.  Of course, they are in the position I was in not too long ago myself, that the need to find a job, new places to live, figure out how they are going to get around.  So I try and temper my questions of them with my knowing that they have their own stuff to deal with.  Plus I'm too stubborn and independent, used to finding how to do it myself, or getting the information from books, that's what I've done before, and I reckon I'll do it again.
